News from 7/27
So today I received a form letter from Amblin (w/ no signature on it) that said thanks
for the support and some more stuff and then it says:
"Please know that we are very proud of Earth 2 and share your dissapointment over
the decision by NBC not to renew the show for the next season. Universal
Television, may in the future consider the series for another network, however at
this time there is no discussion to do so."
Thus there is a glimmer of hope. If you feel up to it, write a few more
letters to let them know that E2 fans won't go away.

So NBC apparently liked the idea of having ads on the back page of Variety
magazine as us E2 fans did back on July 10th. On July 25 there was an ad that
said:
"UNIVERSAL TELEVISION PROUDLY CONGRATULATES OUR EMMY
NOMINESS"
"Murder, She Wrote" is mentioned for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series,
Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction, and Outstanding Achievement in
Costuming. "Law & Order" is mentioned for Outstanding Drama Series",
and...."EARTH 2" is mentioned for Outstanding Achievement in Makeup.
Also, in the middle of the magazine and occupying two pages, is a HUGE advert
from NBC congratulating its Emmy nominees. At the top of the page were the words
"WHEN THE SHOWS ARE QUALITY...QUALITY SHOWS!"
And at the bottom are these words: "We proudly congratulate the many talented
individuals who have helped make '94-'95 such a winning season for us, for
television, and for our viewers." And (amongst many other NBC shows) Earth 2 is
mentioned for Outstanding Achievement in Makeup.
