Paul and the Mall

John takes you over to the National Mall, the park that runs between the U.S. Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial. The splendid green park area extends nearly two miles between the U.S. Capitol and the Washington Monument. On either side of the park are 200-year-old American elm trees. Many of the Smithsonian Institution museums also skirt the Mall. These museums and exhibits house over 100 million specimens and artifacts. As you walk to the U.S. Capitol you see the Smithsonian Castle, the Hirshorn Museum and Sculpture Garden and the Air and Space Museum on your right. To your left is the National Museum of American History, American Art and Natural History. You are sure you aren't seeing all there is to see. You are discussing whether to see the U.S. Constitution exhibit first or to continue on to see the Capitol when John's friend Paul shows up. He comes down to Washington once a month and seems to have some good ideas of what to see.
