(2/8/97)

Greetings from Ann Arbor! I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to post any updates lately, but I have had lots of fun trying to get settled in to my new job. I'll try to get an update here in the next two days...stay tuned for more soon....

(1/5/97)

Hey All-

Santa brought me a job for X-mas, and I'm off to the University of Michigan for a two year teaching position! I will be moving from Los Alamos, NM to Ann Arbor, MI this week and probably won't get another update out for awhile (need to get new internet access, find a place to live, etc.)

Hope you all had a good New Year's! - Raman

From a fan in Brazil:

Here in Brazil the show didn't have great success in the first season of broadcasting, but when they started reruns, it was a big success and was launched as "A great show", "A show that enchanted american people" and things like that.

Now, the show is presented on prime time in saturdays at 20:00h and repeated at 4 am on Sundays.

Visit his HP at http://www.inf.ufsc.br/~caio/earth2i.htm

(12/20)

Hope you all have a great holiday season and may you all get the best in the coming year!

Here is the latest info from E2:Eden Advance

I was reminded that the show I mentioned the other day is called Lazarus Man (thanks Robin) and it has apparently been canceled.

For you Debrah Farentino fans, rumor has it that EZ Streets will return in January. CBS is doing a big publicity push for it.

For those that use the Shockwave Plug-in, visit my Shocked Rockin' Christmas Page :)

(12/17)

I'm proud to say NBC is currently the 4th rated network on Wednesday evenings. I personally think that NBC's executives have the worst television advertising campaign I have ever seen on network television. Their philosophy is clearly "ignorance breeds bliss," or something along those lines. They have recently acquired the rights to a sitcom that was canceled by ABC and will be airing it on Thursday evenings.

From George C.:
I have just heard that Jessica is in the process of shooting 4 episodes of the TV Series "Murder One". They are episodes 9 through 12. I believe episode 8 will be shown today (12-12-96) so Jessica's episodes will be probably shown after the holidays. Maybe they will have a preview after todays episode!

Keep checking "The Jessica Steen Page" for futher details.

From one of the many German E2 fans (thanks Harald):
I just want to tell you, that the series was shown in November, December 1996 in Austria by the ORF (Österreichischer Rundfunk)

There is a rumor that Luke Perry is currently filming the NBC miniseries "Lethal Invasion" with former castmate Rebecca Gayheart. There was another rumor that RG is now engaged.

Antonio Sabato Jr. decided he would do a Calvin Klein commercial where he stood around in his undies for 30 seconds. One would think he could find better work...

I can't remember the name of the syndicated show (which is currently driving me nuts), but it stars Robert Urich and takes place in the old west...anyway...it's filmed near me in Santa Fe, NM and in the episode that aired two weeks Rockmond Dunbar had a small part.

E2 should be starting on the sci-fi channel in the next month or two...I'll get you further details when I know more.

(12/3)

Hey All! I'm back and I now have my Ph.D.! Unfortunately, my poor Fins have almost been eliminated from the playoffs. Anyway, here's the latest scoop. Thanks to all of you who send me info, and for those that haven't heard back from me...I'll eventually get around to dealing with my 500 e-mail messages, so stay tuned.

From an E2 fan in Switzerland (whose English is much better than my Swiss!) comes this info:

Antonio Sabato Jr. will be staring in a made for TV movie on FOX this evening (Code Name Wolverine - or something like that) and will also be on the Billboard Music Awards.

There seem to be about 2 new E2 sites a week for the past few weeks...I probably haven't updated my list in quite awhile so you might want to take a peek at http://www.mindwell.com/~anubis/e2.html for a good listing. I'll get mine up to date in the next month or so (I promise :)

For you fan-fic fans...this site is getting bigger every week: http://tferi4.uni-mb.si/~rozmanal/e2-fanfic/

From G.C.:
In case you haven't heard, Jessica Steen will be in a new movie with Jeff Daniels and Michael Richards called "Trial & Error" from New Line Cinema. The film is currently scheduled for release on February 14, 1997.

For more info on this film and other Jessica stuff, be sure to check out "The Jessica Steen Page" at
http://www.infinet.com/~gc3/steen.html

(11/14)

My Fins actually won a game last week! This week looks difficult against Houston.

I'm proud to say that I am leaving tomorrow morning to go defend my thesis at Michigan State University. I'll be driving a tad more than 20 clicks a day and plan to do the 1600 miles from Los Alamos, NM to East Lansing, MI in just two days. I'll still be checking my e-mail so feel free to drop me a line wishing me good luck :) I will be in Michigan until Thanksgiving, so I probably won't get a chance to do any updates during that time...

Anyway, here is all I have right now:

Antonio Sabato Jr. will be an evil super-powered villian on Louis and Clark this Sunday evening. I'm sure Clark will kick his....

For those that need a bit of E2 multimedia, you can get some small movies (2 QuickTime, 1 AVI) at ftp.stgenesis.org /pub/sci-fi/earth2/movies. If you go up a level, you can also get to a collection of sounds and pics.

Reruns of E2 episodes have been airing in foriegn countries (Australia) and will probably be airing in many European countries in the near future. E2 did exceptionally well on both of those continents.

(11/3)

Well, it's now apparent that my beloved Dolphins are truly in the process of a "rebuilding" season after the mediocre Patriots managed to pummel them. Anyway, here are the sounds I promised...now, back to being bummed :(

(10/30)

OK...I'm almost done bumming the game...so here goes an update on stuff:

For those of you interested in trying to get E2 back into production (or at least a few follow-up movies) here are several addresses to write to.

Any of these people at the address below:

Lucie Salhany, President and CEO
Michael Sullivan, President of Enterainment
Dylan Gerber, Senior VP, marketing and advertising
Tom Biggs, Senior VP, marketing

ADDRESS:

United Paramount Network

and here is another hot name that an E2 fan found out about:

Universal City, CA 91608

phone: 818/777-1122
fax: 818/866-0900

In USA Today newspaper there was a story about how investors hoped the fall line-up would have some big winners since more and more viewers are not watching TV. An E2 fan sent a short response, which was to appear in an issue a few weeks back and mentioned E2! E2 continues to get press.

Web site news:

There is a new site you can check out here that I've heard good things about and also the Jessica Steen Page has recently been updated (I'm not complaining!).

For those of you that use IRC, you can still find E2 on the undernet in the channel #earth2

From the Sci-Fi channel (who will be showing E2 in a few months):

The Entertainment Weekly store has announced their First Annual Sale. Among the items were the t-shirt with the Earth 2 metallic logo, and the shirt with the Earth 2 cast shot. The shirts, normally 16.95, are 13.95 plus shipping. The number to order is 1-800-393-3559, if anyone is interested.

Cast Sightings:

Antonio Sabato Jr was on the Rosie O'Donnell show on Wednesday, Oct 23. He was only on for about 5 minutes but he was dressed in black jeans and a black leather jacket and shirt. He talked about his underwear ads for Calvin Klein and being on General Hospital. They showed a clip from his upcoming movie "Wolverine".

He was also on MTV True Tales of Teen Trauma.

Roy Dotrice, the Elder in TGLSNT, is now in "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" on CBS
(thanks to the fans that pass this info on to me!)

There is no current E2 FAQ covering the show, why it was cancelled, net resources, etc. If someone with a few more writing skills than myself feels like writing one, I'll gladly post it and give you all the credit you wish :)

There is a site with sound waves from Shawshank Redemption, http://www.moviesounds.com/shawshnk.html and the beer.wav is Clancy B's voice.

And finally...there WILL be new sounds on the site by Monday no matter how poorly the Dolphins play (but I'm sure that won't happen - right?)

(10/24)

Hey All-
Sorry for the long delay in News...life has been keeping me a bit busy lately. I promise to get some cast sightings up here this weekend, along with a new person to write to for those that really want E2 back. Also, another collection of sounds will appear :) We'll see what I can come up with.

(10/4)

One more cast sighting to report: After Clancy's Outer Limits last week there was a preview for the next and in it was Mark hamal (Luke Skywalker) and...Deborah Farentino.

(10/2)

Here are the latest cast sightings (all passed on to me..so can't really confirm these personally :):

Walter "Walman" Norman was in a Budweiser commercial that ran before Independence Day (ID4)

Antonio Sabato Jr. was on "20/20" in a spot about Abdominzer machines, they followed Asjr are a gym, he goes five days a week, does 400 sit-ups, 300 knee crunches and more as part of his workout. Clancy Brown's Outer Limits episode has recently been running on syndication.

Clancy Brown was listed as a voice on the Mortal Kombat cartoon series.

One actress from NBC's The Pretender may have been the same woman who played Firestein in "A Memory Play"

The actor who played the grown-up Uly in TBWWBTK appeared as the radiology technician in The Pretender.

Sullivan Walker's show, "Lush Life," was cancelled after the third episode ran.

"The Hunt for Amazing Treasures" was on TLC (The Learning Channel) on Sunday, Sept. 29, hosted by Antonio Sabato Jr.

(9/29)

Here are the sounds! Sunday is still the end of the week...right ?! :)

(9/23)

Hey all - sorry that I don't have the new sounds up yet...this week - I promise! Also, for those of you on PC's (not Macs) you can use the program "Stuffit Expander" to decompress the sound files that are in the .sit format. You can get that at your favorite shareware archive, or go to this PC shareware site and then search for "stuffit expander"

Also, if you ever have any E2 related news that you would like posted here, please drop me a line at pfaff@ppsa.com. As for tonight - may the Dolphins have a great game (sorry Indy fans...but I'm from Miami). Here is the news for the last week or two (I know...I've said some of this before - guess I'm getting loopy):

Monday, according to Daily Variety, Marc Platt begins his new job as President of Production at Universal. Feel free to write him, and anyone else at Universal, and tell them it would be nice to get Earth 2 back into production! Email: cyber@mca.com Snailmail: Universal Studios 100 Universal City Plaza Universal City, CA 91608-1002

CBS has a new kids show called "Bailey Kipper's POV" where Joey Zimmerman plays 'Bailey's' younger brother.

Sullivan "Yale" Walker is on one of FOX's new shows called Lush Life. Reviews of the show have been rather poor - as are many of the new shows this year (in my opinion).

NBC is now running several Drama/Sci-Fi shows together on Saturday evening and Dateline (3 times a week) is on against 60 Minutes. Perhaps they should have thought of this with Earth2. Feel free to write them and inform them of their idiocy.

Terry O'Quinn is listed in Lance Henrickson's new show "Millenium."

There is an article titled "Antonio Sabato Jr. Works Out" done by E! On-line. There are some nice pics and some candid conversation. Find it at http://www.eonline.com/Hot/Features/Sabato/

The animated "Superman" premiered on Sept. 7. Clancy Brown is doing Lex Luthor's voice.

In the Sept. 9 issue of U.S. News on page 57 there is a picture of the new cop show EZ Streets that has Debrah Farentino in it. The Sept. 14-20 issue of TV Guide also had a picture on page 56.

Thanks for helping in this cause-
Sincerely,
Raman Pfaff pfaff@ppsa.com
