FYI, the Nielsen ratings for the 'First Contact' episode of Terre 2 (week of April 21) put Earth 2's french version (aired in the province of Quebec) at number 18 of all TV shows during that week.
It's not clear exactly when the Sci-Fi channel will begin airing E2 again. This is from the TV Guide's sci fi portion of its website (http://www.tvguide.com/tv/area52/hot/index2.htm#first):
"MISSION STATUS Space: Above and Beyond returns to active duty early next year on the Sci-Fi Channel. The series, about a squadron of space Marines battling alien invasions, enjoyed a loyal fan following even after its first-season cancellation. Earth 2, another ill-fated genre series with a similar postmortem popularity, joins the Sci-Fi Channel lineup later this year."
If you would like to let them know you want to see E2 ASAP, drop them an e-mail message at

There is currently an on-line auction in progress to raise money for New Pacificon 1998 (the next Earth2 convention). The list below is almost identical to the current list from the newsgroup alt.tv.earth2 - I pulled one item just due to possible legalities. All bidding should be done through Ona Sostakas - I have nothing to do with this personally. I won't be posting further updates here, so you'll have to either exchange e-mail with Ona, or check the earth2 newsgroup.
RULES:
1. All bids via private e-mail to me. Any posts to news groups or list
will be ignored.
2. Be sure to list lot number and a description of item(s) being bid upon.
I'm not Kreskin, so please be clear.
3. Payment or arrangements for payment must be made within two weeks
from the end of auction or items will not be held and placed into the
auction again.
4. Winner pays all postage. No handling charges. If you wish special
handling of items won, contact me for arrangements.
5. CODES used in auction: New=bid placed since last update. 1, 2 = days
since last NEW bid. Sold=Sold.
6. Updates made daily during weekdays. No updates posted on weekends
(Sat and Sun). Auction will last 2 weeks, or until all items are sold.
7. Bidding names will be given to each person who places a bid. This is
done as a means of allowing people to bid without reservation. This is
NOT a way of hiding, but it allows people to bid on times they want freely.
No two people will be given the same name.
8. I will run the auction in a manner fair to bidders and myself and the
Eden Advance fan club I'm representing. I will always listen, but
reserve the right to do as I see best. This is a fund raising auction
for Eden Advance but will do what I can to ensure a fair outcome for
all concerned.
9. I will inform people of overbids, etc via *private* e-mail. Only
announcement made by me are cannon. I will not post something personal
to the list/group *ever*. Only general announcements will be made
publically.

From a fan in Argentina. E2 is being shown by buenos Aires's channel Telefe. It had playing all episodes and we expect more.
E2 tapes in Europe: From avr@ark.environ.org.uk (Ann Reddecliffe). The PAL format video of E2 First contact is a rental only one. It is produced by CIC in the UK. (They do the British releases of Star Trek). I think they have the rights to all E2 episodes.
Tim Curry's new movie "McHale's Navy" is now out.
CLANCY BROWN News:
"Warcraft Adventures: The Lord of the Clans" is the title of the newest Warcraft game that CB is doing the voice-over for. It is expected out this holiday season. CB's upcoming movie is "Starship Troopers" which should open in November.
Rebecca Gayheart is in the NBC show of "Robin Cook's INVASION" which airs May 4th and 5th.
The promo for ASjr's new movie "High Voltage" was spotted at the end of 'Access Hollywood', and showed them visiting the set of the movie. In his new movie "High Voltage", look for ASjr's Dad, Antonio, Sr.
It is being reported that ASjr is be making an appearance in an up-n-coming film called "Circles". His characters name is TYE. There may be pix available from Nick. He will inform us as soon as possible.
Joey Zimmerman had a small part in the NBC TV movie "Killing Mr. Griffin". He apparently played the kid brother of the main teenaged girl character. The TV movie is based on the book "Killing Mr. Griffin" by Lois Duncan.
JZ was featured in the "Meet..." section of "The Mini Page" which is in the Sunday comics of many newspapers. The small clipping had his picture, told he was currently playing Eric Kipper on the show "Bailey Kipper's P.O.V.", and mentioned that he was born in New Mexico and previous shows include E2.

Sorry for lack of info lately, but grading exams has kept me a bit busy lately....
From an anonymous source: On march 13, 1997 Sulivan Walker boarded a flight from Vancouver to L.A. Canadian Airlines flight number 504.
It's confirmed that on Tuesday April 22 1997 at 7 pm EST Earth2 will be showing the Epsode "First Contact" in french on TVA in Quebec, Canada (thanks again to Andrew Cote)
(4/18/97)
Simon Ethier confirmed that in Québec, Terre 2 will start on airing on April 22nd at 7 PM.
(4/06/97)
Well, the Sci-Fi channel has the debut of M.A.N.T.I.S. on tonight (it was a short lived show on Fox that I thought was good for several episodes). They also showed a never before episode of VR5 the other night, and have (I think) started showing the DSQ episodes.
My big question is why haven't they started showing E2? My optimistic opinion would say they must be contemplating doing a wrap-up movie to show at the end of the season next year when they broadcast all the original episodes.
I think that Terre 2 begins airing in Quebec on April 22nd (but I can't seem to find the e-mail I was looking for, so I'm not positive).
(4/03/97)
From a Canadian E2 fan (thanks Andrew C.)
Earth2 will be playing in Quebec, Canada and will be dubbed in French!
It's going to be on the TVA network, and it's coming soon under the title "Terre 2".

NBC problems continue (they never seem to learn): Entertainment Weekly says NBC's
"NewsRadio" may be shuffling off to the TV boneyard. The third-year comedy, moved to Wednesday nights in September, is getting pummeled by ABC's "The Drew Carey Show." So series creator and executive producer Paul Simms says NBC Entertainment president Warren Littlefield is suggesting the show might be axed. Simms says the critically acclaimed comedy hasn't caught on because of NBC's minimal support, including little on-air promotion and five time-slot shifts.
I wonder if NBC is concerned that viewship as a whole was down during the last sweeps period. Perhaps TV viewers are getting fed up with the networks treatment of quality television (i.e. not showing much).
Earth2 Web Pages seem to be growing at a rapid rate recently (the three R's) :)

Rumor has it that E2 will be on the air soon on a small network: The series will start within a couple of weeks. For those able to catch it on the TVA network, Channel 10 in Montreal, throughout the Province of Quebec. I think that the TVA network is also carried by cable networks in Ontario, New Brunswick and some places in New England.
The Earth 2:Eden Advance webpage is currently undergoing a facelift.
However, we have a page up now. Some of you may remember it; it's the old
page that was up prior to the "Good Luck at NP '96" posterpage went up.
However, it has the new PO Box and E2:EA club information listed there.
It's a good place to go for basic information. If you want, please feel
free to link the E2:EA page to your E2 pages (or personal pages). The URL

THE BIG QUESTION: "When-exactly- is the Sci-Fi channel going to air Earth2?" No official word from SFC yet - just that it would air in the spring.
Russ Werkman, our fav Terrian, was spotted on "The Burning Zone" UPN, as a young priest.
Jessica Steen's character's name in "Murder One" is Paige Weikopt. A brief description of the upcoming week's ep, and a mention of JS, are found at http://www.iguide.com/tv/tvguide/programs/03/003khwvr.sml
Soon (hopefully) the NETZINE site will be putting up new captures from an E2 episode. Here is the URL: http://www.cei.net/~tec/0057.htm
LaTanya Richardson-"Alex Wentworth" was spotted on an ep of 'Homicide--Life on the Streets'.
Kirk-Cameron-gets an official mention in the movie "Dante's Peak". The URL that has a listing for all new/upcoming films is at: http://www.islandnet.com/~corona/films/allfilms.html "Starship Troopers", Clancy Brown's new movie, is listed there, also. Speaking of "Starship Troopers", in a report found at the Sci-Fi Weekly website: " 'Starship Troopers' delayed until Nov.7. One of 1997's hotly anticipated science fiction movies, 'Starship Troopers' by director Paul Verhoven (Total Recall, Basic Instinct), has been pushed back to a Nov.7 release date. The movie had been scheduled to open on July 2, but studio execs were reportedly so impressed with preliminary scenes, that they decided to release it during the crowded, but lucrative, holiday season.
'Starship Troopers' is based on the Robert Heinlein book of the same name and has already been lauded for its special effects by those who have seen pre-release snippets."
ASjr. was most definitely spotted snuzzling Miss Piggy during the SuperBowl, in a Lays potato chip commercial.

Úquot;We have acquired the rights to Earth2, but I don't believe a date for its debut has yet been set. I suspect it may not me until 1998, but it could be earlier than that. So far, it hasn't been scheduled to air in the 1st or 2nd quarters of 1997. Sorry, that's all the information we have right now.Úquot;
Now, after this little announcement, several Edenites have suggested that the Sci-Fi channel needs to be bombarded with letters, e-mails and such, to show Sci-Fi channel that there are fans who cares about this series and will support it.
You can find probably everything you wanted to know...or even didn't want to know....about ASjr at http://members.aol.com/Seleya8/ASjr/X-Roads.htm
